The Future of Data Work

Every day brings a lot of changes to data professionals and it's difficult to predict what new technology is going to stick or how upcoming legislation will impact what we do. Join us for a discussion about what the future of data work might look like. Sam Carpenter is an IT Business Analyst for Washington State University. He worked for Microsoft as a Senior Program Manager for both the SQL Server and Exchange Hosted Services product groups. He is currently diving into data science and BI infrastructure automation. Rozalind Kitt is a Senior Business Analyst for STCU is currently finishing her Masters in Data Analytics with WGU. Eli Brunette is a Data Scientist at RiskLens. He is currently finalizing a master's degree in computer science at Eastern Washington University. His thesis uses machine learning models to create a live heatmap of the United States to track influenza on a national scale using a live Twitter stream. Josh Smith is a production DBA at STCU where he is responsible for the engineering and smooth operation of the SQL environment. He is also involved in data governance and the automation of SQL development.
